An animated film of a few minutes presents Pest during the time of Turkish subjugation. At that time, Astoria was covered with plants instead of buildings, but there was a square in Budapest where camels could rest centuries ago. It is not a question of what Váci utca is like today, but what was it like 500 years ago?
With the help of an animated short film, anyone can now discover how they lived in today's Budapest centuries ago, what their daily lives were like, what they did, or even how they ate. We can also think about whether we, XXI. century people, would we be able to survive in such an environment at all?

Historians Tamás Baltavári and Viktor P. Kis started making short films at the dawn of video sharing, at the end of the 2000s. The team processed several significant battles. Among others, the battles of Mogyoród, Muhi, Bratislava, Szigetvár and Nándorfehérvár. Seeing the completed animations, several questions may arise: for example, in the whirlwind of battles, noise and dust clouds, how did the warring parties avoid accidentally slaughtering their own comrades?
This is how the Nándorfehérvár triumph was dreamed up as an animation.
Thanks to the animations, the spectators also get into the thick of the battles. You can imagine the endurance and strength it took for the soldiers to be able to fight while protecting their lives.
Of course, they don't just recreate battles. Several of Tamásék's films present the everyday life of the past. For example, the Ráčfürdő comes alive during the Turkish occupation. Pest and Buda were very diverse at the time: South Slavs, Bosniaks, Serbs, Armenians, Jews, Turks and Hungarians lived in the city. And the Turks settled quickly, building mosques and baths. Sokolu Mustafa was the greatest builder in today's Budapest, and the most beautiful Turkish works can be associated with his name.
The team has animated the life of several historical eras. It is interesting to glimpse into the worlds known only from paintings or descriptions.
