Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced in a video on Tuesday afternoon that he is launching a new show on Twitter .
"We're bringing a new version of the show to Twitter starting soon," Carlson said in his first statement about his future plans after Fox. It's "the show we've been doing for the last six and a half years," but it's coming to Twitter, he added.
"We'll bring some other things that we'll report on. But for now, we're just grateful to be here. Free speech is the most important right you have.
Without it, there's nothing else," Carlson said.
Carlson also praised Twitter, which Tesla owner Elon Musk bought late last year, for being one of the few "remaining platforms that allow free speech."
He noted that in the American media business there are rules governing what "can't be said," which he says undermines the First Amendment to the US Constitution.
"Freedom of speech is a basic prerequisite for democracy. That's why it was included in our first constitutional amendment," he added.
"Surprisingly, as of tonight, there aren't many platforms left that allow for free speech. The last big one left ... is Twitter, where we are now."

In the video, he did not specify how long the show would be, when it would start, or whether he had reached an agreement with Elon Musk. Unconfirmed reports emerged this week that Carlson had spoken with Musk about a possible show on the social media network.

I hope many others, especially on the left , are also choosing to become content creators on this platform."

Rumors have swirled that Carlson is filing a lawsuit against his former channel, bolstered by former Fox host Megyn Kelly's claims, while claims he is still under contract until early 2025.
Carlson's attorney, Bryan Freedman, responded to the news by saying that "the idea that anyone would silence Tucker and prevent him from speaking to his audience is beyond absurd."
"I don't know what made Fox News make that decision. And it was clearly Fox News' decision because they didn't even let him say goodbye," Kelly said on his podcast last month.
"That's my guess. That's not insider knowledge...let's talk about misunderstanding your audience again."
40 countries are no longer willing to use the US dollar and 81 countries are preparing for a conference in June to return to gold regulation.
More than 25 states want to introduce a gold/silver standard after that, or return to it.

For human-caused global warming to be real, there must be a "warm blanket" around the Earth, approx. At an altitude of 4-5 miles. This warm blanket is the greenhouse gas layer where carbon dioxide accumulates. After being heated by sunlight and upwelling heat radiation (infrared), it radiates heat radiation back to Earth, causing warming. If it doesn't warm, it doesn't send radiation back to Earth and there is no Greenhouse effect. Not only must it be warming, but it must be warming faster than the surface - if we are to rely on it to justify claims such as, "Most of the recent warming is due to human activity." If carbon dioxide emissions cause warming, then it causes warming by warming the gas layer (which then sends the heat back to Earth). There is no other mechanism like this. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus should never have been elected WHO Director-General. He should have been charged with crimes against the Ethiopian people.
His stint as a minister in the Ethiopian government from 2005 to 2016 should have disqualified him from any international office. Few governments could have been as bad as the one Tedros served in for 11 years, but instead of impeaching him for his crimes, the global community promoted him to become director-general of the World Health Organization.

We have omitted some statements from the Spectator article about covid as we wanted to focus on Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus' criminal history and these statements were unrelated to his past. Tedros should never have been nominated for the post of Director-General of the World Health Organization ("WHO"). However, once he was nominated, no one should have voted for him. Once elected, he would have had the decency and humanity to declare himself unfit for such an office. Unfortunately, however, it still serves.
His time as a minister in the Ethiopian government between 2005 and 2016 should disqualify him from any international office.
In the 1980s, the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front ("EPRDF") was an alliance of several political parties, including the Tigray People's Liberation Front ("TPLF"). The TPLF itself was formed in 1975 and, as part of the EPRDF, with the help of the Eritrean People's Liberation Front ("EPLF"), overthrew the Marxist government led by dictator Mengistu Haile Mariam and installed another Marxist government led by Meles Zenawi. Mengistu fled Addis Ababa in May 1991 and was granted asylum by Robert Mugabe. Of course he got it. Mengiszt was found guilty of genocide by the Ethiopian Supreme Court in 2006. The TPLF itself has been listed in the Global Terrorist Database as a terrorist organization since 1976, when it was first discovered to have carried out kidnappings and hostage-taking.
Born in 1965, Tedros earned a degree in biology from an Ethiopian university in 1986. Tedros then appears to have worked as a health official when Mengistu was in power, but left Ethiopia to study in England, where he earned a degree in immunology in 1992 and a doctorate in community health from the University of Nottingham in 2000. It is not clear when he joined the TPLF, but it is inconceivable that he was not a member when he became Minister of Health in 2005. It was later reported that Tedros was one of the 9 leading politicians of the TPLF for many years.
Tedros has always been an unfit candidate to head the WHO, given the appalling human rights record of the Ethiopian government he served as chief minister. A review of 11 years of annual reports by Human Rights Watch ("HRW") and Amnesty International makes for disturbing reading.
Tedros may not have been aware of the content of these reports and what was happening in his country throughout his time as Minister of Health and Foreign Affairs, but it is unbelievable that he was ignorant or indifferent to human rights violations for 11 years. To be sure, some of Ethiopia's international donors should regret that they continued to help Ethiopia during this period without putting enough pressure on the government for abuses. These donors included the United States, the United Kingdom and, of course, China.
Comparing Human Rights Watch and Amnesty reports from 2005-2016 reveals shocking domestic crimes that were either planned or ignored by the government of which Tedros was a senior minister.
In a review of numerous articles, reports, reviews and other materials covering Ethiopia between 2005 and 2016, we found no indication that Tedros criticized the behavior of the government-run army or police. There is not a single hint that he has condemned human rights abuses or crackdowns on dissidents or opposition members. There is not a single hint that he objected to the jailing of journalists or the silencing of the voices of human rights activists. In fact, there is no indication that Tedros has done anything other than be a willing accomplice in the crimes against humanity committed by the Ethiopian government, of which he was the prime minister for 11 years.
In 2006, reports indicated repressive and brutal campaigns by security forces and civilian officials in many parts of the country. Among others, seventy-six opposition politicians and journalists were arrested. Independent newspapers and their editors have reported harassment and intimidation and faced criminal charges for their reporting. Authorities in one local state reported torture and imprisonment (including the imprisonment of school children). In relation to atrocities committed by Ethiopian military forces in Gambella state in 2003, including extrajudicial killings and rapes, the government "failed to take meaningful steps to address the widespread atrocities". The case of alleged executions and torture in eastern Ethiopia could not be investigated,
The 2007 reports are no better. HRW notes, "Government forces have committed serious human rights abuses, including rape, torture, and village destruction during their campaign against Ethiopian rebels in [Ethiopia's] eastern Somalia region." In response to attacks by the Ogaden National Liberation Front, an opposition group, government security forces "ransacked entire villages, carried out public executions, raped and harassed women and girls, arbitrarily arrested, tortured and sometimes killed suspects in military custody, and forced thousands from their homes." . In January, a 10th grader died after being beaten by police and two high school students were shot dead. In March, security forces reportedly executed 19 men and a 14-year-old girl.
In 2008, Amnesty said, "Government forces are responsible for mass arrests, torture, rape and extrajudicial executions during an ongoing conflict with an armed (opposition) group. Thousands of government opponents have been detained without trial." According to HRW's report, "Ethiopian military forces continued to commit war crimes and other serious abuses with impunity during the counter-insurgency campaign... Local opposition groups were crippled, and in the April elections the ruling party and its allies won more than 99% of all constituencies they won". The government has also introduced legislation that would criminalize most independent human rights work. In April, government soldiers working in support of the Somali government in Mogadishu raided a mosque and killed 21 people, seven of whom had their throats cut. By 2008, Chinese investments in Ethiopia increased from 10 million dollars 5 years earlier to more than 350 million dollars.
In 2009, HRW stated that the human rights situation was "deteriorating". The opposition leader was imprisoned. The laws made human rights work impossible. Under the new laws, dissidents became terrorist acts. The new civil society laws have been described as "one of the strictest of any similar law in the world". Prisoners were tortured in police and army custody. The government did not prosecute government soldiers who committed war crimes or crimes against humanity, and investigations were rarely conducted, but unsurprisingly, an August 2008 inquiry into the conduct of the armed forces found no serious abuses.
In a 2009 report, Amnesty wrote that "Ethiopian troops fighting rebels supporting the Transitional Federal Government in Somalia have committed human rights abuses and are reported to have committed war crimes. Government forces attacked a mosque in Mogadishu, killing 21 people , some in the mosque. On May 22, four Ethiopian pilots who applied for asylum while training in Israel in 2007 were sentenced to death in absentia".
In the 2010 parliamentary elections, the EPRDF won 99.6% of the votes. Hundreds of political prisoners remained in prison, but opposition leader Birtukan Midekssa was released after 22 months in prison, although in December 2009 the United Nations found that his detention violated international law. According to HRW, "hundreds of other Ethiopian nationals have also been arbitrarily arrested and detained, and sometimes subjected to torture and other ill-treatment...Torture and ill-treatment are used by the Ethiopian police and other members of the security forces to punish a wide range of perceived dissidents." .... Very few cases of torture have been promptly and impartially investigated, much less prosecuted.... The Ethiopian army and other security forces are responsible for serious crimes in the Somali region,
Newspapers were closed and editors fled the country in fear. Fifteen other journalists also fled the country. The Voice of America and Deutsche Welle were also shut down.
Things did not improve in 2011 either. "Hundreds of Ethiopians ... have been arbitrarily arrested and detained and remain at risk of torture and ill-treatment," HRW said. More than 200 opposition supporters were arrested. Several journalists were arrested and charged with treason. In August, the Amnesty International delegation was expelled from Ethiopia.
Tedros must have done a good job as health minister because in 2011 he was the first non-American to receive the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Humanitarian Award.
Tedros' role as health minister from 2005 to 2012 brought him much praise for his work leading to a reduction in death rates from HIV and malaria, although three cholera outbreaks were reportedly reclassified as diarrheal diseases while he was health minister to avoid international embarrassment.
Prime Minister Meles died in 2012, but the situation did not improve. Thirty journalists and opposition representatives were convicted of terrorist acts. Arbitrary arrests, detentions and beatings took place during Muslim protests. Several of Ethiopia's most respected human rights activists have fled the country due to threats. Two journalists were imprisoned for fourteen years. One was later reduced to five years. Another journalist was sentenced to 18 years in prison. However, the two Swedish journalists sentenced to eleven years in prison in 2011 were released in September along with more than 1,950 other prisoners as part of an amnesty held on the occasion of the Ethiopian New Year.
In March, government-backed paramilitary forces executed 10 male detainees and killed nine other villagers in an incident in Raqda village. In April, Ethiopian soldiers arrested several young men and tortured, raped and otherwise abused several villagers while trying to extract information following an attack on a local farm, HRW reports.
In 2013, "hopes that Ethiopia's new leadership would pursue human rights reforms following the death of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi in August 2012 were dashed; there was no tangible change in policy in 2013," HRW said. They went on to say: "Beatings and arbitrary detention of protesters continued. Access to legal representation was often denied. Human rights groups either removed 'human rights' from their mandates or drastically scaled back their activities. Websites and blogs are often blocked." or blocked. Members of opposition parties continued to be arrested. Dozens of journalists fled the country. The owners of six newspapers have been charged after their publications were harassed. The government regularly monitored domestic and international calls. Up to 1.5 million rural villagers were planned to be relocated "to improve their access to basic services", although such relocations were accompanied by beatings, arbitrary arrests and other forms of violence.
Amnesty noted in its 2014/15 report that torture took place in local police stations, regional prisons and military camps. Torture methods included burning and electric shock. Amnesty also reported that security forces killed at least 800 protesters in the three years to 2017.
In 2015, the EPRDF won all 547 seats in the May elections. This is truly a remarkable achievement. Opposition parties were not allowed to hold meetings and many of their organizers were arrested. Eighteen Muslim protesters were each sentenced to between seven and 22 years in prison after protesting government interference in their religious affairs. According to HRW, the paramilitary police forces of the Somali regional state "continued to commit serious human rights abuses".
In 2016, Dr. Tedros' last year as Foreign Minister, HRW reported that "Ethiopian security forces cracked down on ... largely peaceful protests, killing more than 500 people" in the Oromia and Amhara regions. In August, more than 100 people were killed in Amharic and Oromian protests. Many cases of torture and rape were never investigated. Several journalists were arrested and websites were blocked. In response to the Oromo and Amhara killings, the government-run organization, euphemistically called the "Ethiopian Human Rights Commission," concluded that the violence used by security forces was "proportionate to the risk posed by the protesters," according to HRW. contrary to evidence.
In 2016, the International Committee to Protect Journalists reported that Ethiopia has one of Africa's leading jailers of journalists. Then British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond warned Tedros in a meeting that Britain would re-examine its relationship with Ethiopia, given that an Ethiopian-born British citizen had been sentenced to death simply because he was a member of opposition parties.
So it is not difficult to understand why in 2017 Tedros appointed the late president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, as a WHO Goodwill Ambassador, given his own appalling human rights record. You could say a travel companion. As previously reported by The Australian, Tedros ultimately withdrew Mugabe's nomination under international pressure.
Tedros' close ties with the Chinese Communist government, which have become transparent during the current covid-19 epidemic, are not surprising. U.N. records show that during the WHO director-general's tenure, Chinese contributions rose from about $23 million in 2016 to $38 million in 2019 and a promised $57 million by 2020. China has also been a major donor to Ethiopia, with donations rising from US$345,000 in 2000 to US$44 million in 2017, reportedly for food and refugee programs.
If there was any doubt about the crimes committed by the Ethiopian government against its own people during the 11 years Tedros served as a senior minister, they were unequivocally dispelled by the current Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, in June 2018. Ahmed told parliament that previous Ethiopian governments sanctioned the torture of political prisoners. He acknowledged that Ethiopian security forces have tortured people in the past and used terrorist tactics to stay in power. He apparently admitted "that it is unconstitutional" to use violence to stay in power, which should be considered terrorism. Ahmed's more liberal approach to governing Ethiopia, including the release of political prisoners, was strongly opposed by Tedros' old party, the TPLF,
What is the responsibility of a senior minister for the crimes of the government he serves? Is it possible for a senior minister like Tedros to have been unaware of war crimes and/or human rights abuses committed by his government for eleven years? But this is an unthinkable proposition. No doubt appalled by what he had to know was happening in his country, he considered resignation and then asylum? Or do his actions prove that there is only one conclusion to be drawn, and that is that Tedros not only knew about these atrocities, he condoned them, did nothing to prevent them, and is therefore culpable for them?
Politically, things seem to be improving in Ethiopia. Freedoms and reforms are introduced under Prime Minister Ahmed. One thing we do know is that few governments could have been as bad as the one Tedros served in for 11 years before the global community decided to promote him. Shame on you WHO members.

Few governments could have been as bad as the one Tedros served in for 11 years, but instead of impeaching him for his crimes, the global community promoted him to become director-general of the World Health Organization.

Tedros should never have been nominated for the post of Director-General of the World Health Organization ("WHO"). However, once he was nominated, no one should have voted for him. Once elected, he would have had the decency and humanity to declare himself unfit for such an office. Unfortunately, however, it still serves.
His time as a minister in the Ethiopian government between 2005 and 2016 should disqualify him from any international office.
In the 1980s, the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front ("EPRDF") was an alliance of several political parties, including the Tigray People's Liberation Front ("TPLF"). The TPLF itself was formed in 1975 and, as part of the EPRDF, with the help of the Eritrean People's Liberation Front ("EPLF"), overthrew the Marxist government led by dictator Mengistu Haile Mariam and installed another Marxist government led by Meles Zenawi. Mengistu fled Addis Ababa in May 1991 and was granted asylum by Robert Mugabe. Of course he got it. Mengiszt was found guilty of genocide by the Ethiopian Supreme Court in 2006. The TPLF itself has been listed in the Global Terrorist Database as a terrorist organization since 1976, when it was first discovered to have carried out kidnappings and hostage-taking.
Born in 1965, Tedros earned a degree in biology from an Ethiopian university in 1986. Tedros then appears to have worked as a health official when Mengistu was in power, but left Ethiopia to study in England, where he earned a degree in immunology in 1992 and a doctorate in community health from the University of Nottingham in 2000. It is not clear when he joined the TPLF, but it is inconceivable that he was not a member when he became Minister of Health in 2005. It was later reported that Tedros was one of the 9 leading politicians of the TPLF for many years.
Tedros has always been an unfit candidate to head the WHO, given the appalling human rights record of the Ethiopian government he served as chief minister. A review of 11 years of annual reports by Human Rights Watch ("HRW") and Amnesty International makes for disturbing reading.
Tedros may not have been aware of the content of these reports and what was happening in his country throughout his time as Minister of Health and Foreign Affairs, but it is unbelievable that he was ignorant or indifferent to human rights violations for 11 years. To be sure, some of Ethiopia's international donors should regret that they continued to help Ethiopia during this period without putting enough pressure on the government for abuses. These donors included the United States, the United Kingdom and, of course, China.
Comparing Human Rights Watch and Amnesty reports from 2005-2016 reveals shocking domestic crimes that were either planned or ignored by the government of which Tedros was a senior minister.
In a review of numerous articles, reports, reviews and other materials covering Ethiopia between 2005 and 2016, we found no indication that Tedros criticized the behavior of the government-run army or police. There is not a single hint that he has condemned human rights abuses or crackdowns on dissidents or opposition members. There is not a single hint that he objected to the jailing of journalists or the silencing of the voices of human rights activists. In fact, there is no indication that Tedros has done anything other than be a willing accomplice in the crimes against humanity committed by the Ethiopian government, of which he was the prime minister for 11 years.
In 2006, reports indicated repressive and brutal campaigns by security forces and civilian officials in many parts of the country. Among others, seventy-six opposition politicians and journalists were arrested. Independent newspapers and their editors have reported harassment and intimidation and faced criminal charges for their reporting. Authorities in one local state reported torture and imprisonment (including the imprisonment of school children). In relation to atrocities committed by Ethiopian military forces in Gambella state in 2003, including extrajudicial killings and rapes, the government "failed to take meaningful steps to address the widespread atrocities". The case of alleged executions and torture in eastern Ethiopia could not be investigated,
The 2007 reports are no better. HRW notes, "Government forces have committed serious human rights abuses, including rape, torture, and village destruction during their campaign against Ethiopian rebels in [Ethiopia's] eastern Somalia region." In response to attacks by the Ogaden National Liberation Front, an opposition group, government security forces "ransacked entire villages, carried out public executions, raped and harassed women and girls, arbitrarily arrested, tortured and sometimes killed suspects in military custody, and forced thousands from their homes." . In January, a 10th grader died after being beaten by police and two high school students were shot dead. In March, security forces reportedly executed 19 men and a 14-year-old girl.
In 2008, Amnesty said, "Government forces are responsible for mass arrests, torture, rape and extrajudicial executions during an ongoing conflict with an armed (opposition) group. Thousands of government opponents have been detained without trial." According to HRW's report, "Ethiopian military forces continued to commit war crimes and other serious abuses with impunity during the counter-insurgency campaign... Local opposition groups were crippled, and in the April elections the ruling party and its allies won more than 99% of all constituencies they won". The government has also introduced legislation that would criminalize most independent human rights work. In April, government soldiers working in support of the Somali government in Mogadishu raided a mosque and killed 21 people, seven of whom had their throats cut. By 2008, Chinese investments in Ethiopia increased from 10 million dollars 5 years earlier to more than 350 million dollars.
In 2009, HRW stated that the human rights situation was "deteriorating". The opposition leader was imprisoned. The laws made human rights work impossible. Under the new laws, dissidents became terrorist acts. The new civil society laws have been described as "one of the strictest of any similar law in the world". Prisoners were tortured in police and army custody. The government did not prosecute government soldiers who committed war crimes or crimes against humanity, and investigations were rarely conducted, but unsurprisingly, an August 2008 inquiry into the conduct of the armed forces found no serious abuses.
In a 2009 report, Amnesty wrote that "Ethiopian troops fighting rebels supporting the Transitional Federal Government in Somalia have committed human rights abuses and are reported to have committed war crimes. Government forces attacked a mosque in Mogadishu, killing 21 people , some in the mosque. On May 22, four Ethiopian pilots who applied for asylum while training in Israel in 2007 were sentenced to death in absentia".
In the 2010 parliamentary elections, the EPRDF won 99.6% of the votes. Hundreds of political prisoners remained in prison, but opposition leader Birtukan Midekssa was released after 22 months in prison, although in December 2009 the United Nations found that his detention violated international law. According to HRW, "hundreds of other Ethiopian nationals have also been arbitrarily arrested and detained, and sometimes subjected to torture and other ill-treatment...Torture and ill-treatment are used by the Ethiopian police and other members of the security forces to punish a wide range of perceived dissidents." .... Very few cases of torture have been promptly and impartially investigated, much less prosecuted.... The Ethiopian army and other security forces are responsible for serious crimes in the Somali region,
Newspapers were closed and editors fled the country in fear. Fifteen other journalists also fled the country. The Voice of America and Deutsche Welle were also shut down.
Things did not improve in 2011 either. "Hundreds of Ethiopians ... have been arbitrarily arrested and detained and remain at risk of torture and ill-treatment," HRW said. More than 200 opposition supporters were arrested. Several journalists were arrested and charged with treason. In August, the Amnesty International delegation was expelled from Ethiopia.
Tedros must have done a good job as health minister because in 2011 he was the first non-American to receive the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Humanitarian Award.
Tedros' role as health minister from 2005 to 2012 brought him much praise for his work leading to a reduction in death rates from HIV and malaria, although three cholera outbreaks were reportedly reclassified as diarrheal diseases while he was health minister to avoid international embarrassment.

A new study provides new evidence that ventilators killed Covid patients, suggesting that ventilator-induced pneumonia - not Covid itself - caused many deaths, while Sars-Cov-2 was relatively mild. The effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines fell below 20 percent a few months after vaccination, and the effectiveness of booster shots fell below 30 percent. A review published May 3 in the journal JAMA Network analyzed 40 studies that estimated vaccine efficacy (VE) over time against laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infection and symptomatic disease. Studies were selected from 799 original articles, 149 reviews published in peer-reviewed journals, and 35 preprints. The review found that the vaccine efficacy of a primary vaccination course against Omicron infection and symptomatic disease 6 months after the last dose was less than 20 percent. Booster doses restored vaccine efficacy to a level similar to that experienced after the primary cycle dose. Sudden Death Syndrome is the shocking and unfortunately growing phenomenon that lied to vaccinations, appeared after the deployment of COVID-19 vaccines and is claiming its victims worldwide among the vaccinated.
